These 6 shawarma spots in Dublin made me quit late-night cooking!

There’s no shame in admitting that you just can’t DIY something. For example, I once tried making shawarma from scratch—ended up setting off my alarm system and freaking out the cat. I gave up 15 minutes later with a delivery order on the way.

And I know practice makes perfect, but I’m not exactly the most patient person in the world. One time, the garlic’s way too strong or just barely there. Or, I try to cook healthy and end up with a dry, sad mess. My friends told me to just stop trying.

So I did—but only the cooking part. Recently, my foodie friends and I went on a mission to find the best shawarma spots in Dublin. That way, I can get my fix without destroying my kitchen. Check out my top picks below.

Where can I order shawarma in Dublin?

There are a bunch of places where you can order shawarma in Dublin! Swing by scrumptious spots, like The Shawarma Company, Reyna, and Cafe Oasis, for a flavourful fix to your late-night meat cravings.

Whether you’re drunk or sober coming in, The Shawarma Company is among Dublin’s top casual spots open until midnight or 4 am (depending on the day). For us, this place is perfect for a quick bite, lunch or brunch stop, or post-pub cravings.

We recommend the chicken shawarma wrap, the lamb shawarma plate, and the falafel wrap (small, spiced balls for vegetarians). It also features other tasty Middle Eastern street food, like kebabs (both skewered and döner or vertical style) and hummus bowls.

And for a sweet finish, we recommend getting Turkish delights (remember that fancy gelatinous dessert in the movie Narnia?). However, be sure to ask about this beforehand since they run out fast.

Pro tips:

  • We suggest going easy on the garlic sauce at The Shawarma Company if you’ve got a date or client meeting later—it’s pretty strong!
  • If you’re ordering a mixed wrap, it’s smart to check how big it is before getting a new one. We think this serving is already good for 2.

Reyna

Should you want something more sophisticated, Reyna is a stylish dining spot with some swanky shawarmas in Dublin. It provides Middle Eastern and Mediterranean fusion with a twist, which we think makes it great for first dates and small reunions.

For us, you should get your hands on the beef shawarma bowl, which comes with tahini (sesame condiment) and colourful salads. We like the chicken wrap too (it’s got fries inside!). We also appreciate the vegan shawarma with spiced jackfruit for a unique take.

Dessert-wise, we like the class kunefe or knafeh (sweet cheese pastry). We just recommend getting Turkish coffee or mint tea to balance out the sweetness.

Foodie hacks:

  • Watching your weight? We suggest getting Reyna’s shawarma bowls for fewer carbs (yet maximum flavour!)
  • We also noticed that it gets busy around here during lunch. It’s wise to arrive before or after that hour for a pretty chill seat.

Cafe Oasis

Cafe Oasis is a shawarma local gem in Dublin known for its comfort food. Though this place might not look that fancy, we still think it delivers big flavours with hearty portions—we say go here if you need something to get you through the day!

If you’re unsure what to order, why not try the mixed shawarma plate first? It’s got lamb and chicken with rice, as well as flatbread, chips, and salad. But if you want everything in one container (no wraps), we suggest getting the shawarma box instead.

Do note that this restaurant isn’t exactly known for desserts. It’s more of a savoury spot with soft drinks and energy drinks. In our opinion, this is best for casual brunches or mid-afternoon snacks.

Friendly advice:

  • For us, it’s best to bring your own plastic or ecobag to Cafe Oasis to ensure your shawarma takeaways are safe—they tend to drip! Don’t risk your car seat for this.
  • We encourage bringing cash as payment too! The staff here takes cards, but the queues are typically longer at night. Paying with bills and coins can speed things up.

Falafel

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday – 11 AM to 2 AM
  • Friday to Saturday – 11 AM to 4 AM

Pricing: €10 to €20 per person

Want something easy on the wallet? We think Falafel is worth a shot for its cheap yet flavourful shawarma. Though it’s only a tiny takeaway joint, patrons come here often for its wraps and garlic sauce—an amazing pit stop for a long drive or errand day, we say.

For those who can’t decide between chicken and lamb, we find it handy that there’s a combo wrap here with the best of both worlds. You can also have a hummus bowl or salad on the side to make it more filling. They’re not big on desserts here, though.

Cool ideas:

  • Why not ask to have your wraps toasted at Falafel? The staff can grill them upon request, and we think crispy wraps are so much better for better textures!
  • If you’re hesitant if you can handle spice, we suggest asking for a light drizzle of chilli sauce first. Later, you can build up the spice level and boost your bragging rights among friends.

Rotana City is one of the city’s first Middle Eastern dining spots, known for its authentic cuisine and hearty servings. It gives proper sit-down meals too, so you can experience Lebanese-Middle Eastern food with family-friendly plates and cosy vibes.

The highlights for us are the grilled chicken and spiced lamb shawarma. Still, we believe mixed platters are best for kids and adults new to the cuisine. We also recommend getting the rice dishes with spiced stews and meats if you want to leave feeling full.

Insider scoop:

We encourage asking the staff at Rotana City for their daily specials—there are seasonal or off-menu gems here! We think these are worth it if you think you’ve already tried every item.

Right off the main Dundrum strip, Falafel Dundrum is a chill and compact spot with a few tables ideal for solo bites or no-fuss meals. We also like that you can see your food being made at the counter, so you can ensure it’s fresh.

Besides the lamb and chicken, we love the grilled kebabs (skewers) and kofta (meatball). Loaded rice bowls are also here if you’ve had a long day and want a cheat day. If you’re lucky, you might spot a sweet baklava (layered pastry) at the counter too!

Savvy suggestion:

We suggest calling Falafel Dundrum’s staff ahead of time if you’re ordering during the lunch rush. It’s best to get ahead of other customers for a hassle-free takeaway.
