Best Thai Restaurants in Dublin
Food quality is one thing and authenticity is another. Here are the criteria that helped us choose the restaurants on this list:
1. Full Moon Thai Restaurant
Selection | ★★★★☆ |
Service | ★★★★☆ |
Atmosphere | ★★★★★ |
Value for money | ★★★★★ |
Full Moon Thai is dedicated to bring you the authentic Thai food experience in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in their own cafe.
What we love about Full Moon is that they preserve the authenticity of Thai culture through their food. They specialize in street food and meals with a wide array of choices that you can pick from.
We recommend trying out their specialty Moo Ping, a street-style pork skewers with dip. Another must-have snack is their Khao Tod which is a crispy rice ball treat with curry, inspired by a Laos street food snack.
Aside from street food, they also offer noodle dishes for those who want to try slurping Thai goodness. Worry not, vegan friends, because they have various vegan-friendly options on their menu as well!
If we are to nitpick this restaurant, it would have been better if they fixed their online portal as some of the food on the menu does not have any images, which makes it less appealing to their customers, especially to first-timers.
But if you’re looking forward to trying authentic Thai food to jumpstart your gourmet adventure, then definitely check Full Moon Thai Restaurant in Dublin!
Pros
- Wide variety of Thai food
- Big serving portions
- Highly reviewed for its authentic taste
Cons
- Opens in late morning
- Dine-in can be hectic due to large customer volume

Real Thai Food in Dublin
“Real Thai food in the heart of Dublin! I was there with friends a few weeks ago and what a treat. We started with some rice balls/croquettes which were amazing. Strongly recommend them. The fish pancakes were also very tasty. I had a soup with pork as the main dish. It was the spiciest and tastiest soup I’ve ever had. The portions were really big so I struggled a bit to finish the soup. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and were happy to answer all our questions.” – Alicia Llorens, Google Review
Closest to Authentic
“Beautiful food and service, closest to authentic I can find. They make the food “Thai spicy” if you ask them to. The staff is lovely and it’s very covid friendly with barriers between each table, but not ruining the lovely vibe. Will definitely be going back! The pork skewers starter absolutely blew us away – haven’t had anything like them before! The Pad Thai and Pad Khee Mao were beautiful and had rich flavors. It was unfortunate they didn’t have the mango and sticky rice available.” – Narayani Mukeriji, Google Review

Other than desserts, they also have a bar where they serve alcohol and cocktails which you can enjoy either in their indoor or outdoor place.
Do take note though that you can expect service not to be optimal during peak hours since some customers stated that their service feels kind of “rushed”. You might also have to book ahead of time because they are more often fully seated than not.

5. Thai Garden Restaurant
Selection | ★★★★☆ |
Service | ★★★☆☆ |
Atmosphere | ★★★★☆ |
Value for money | ★★★☆☆ |
“As real as it gets.” That’s what Thai Garden Restaurant has to say on their menu of traditional Thai cuisine.
Thai Garden and their culinary team follows the fundamental flavors of Thai cuisine where they mix hot, sour, sweet, salty, and bitter flavor profiles into their cooking. They also capitalize on high quality traditional ingredients such as lemon grass, coconut, coriander, galangal, and more.
What is to be noted to be the best in this restaurant is their customer service – but not in the sense that you might think. Customers noted they serve quickly while being hospitable which they’ve likened feels like they’re actually in Thailand.
Another important detail is that Thai Garden provides catering services to those who want to incorporate Thai cuisine into their own party or function.
If you’re unsure on what to get, they have combination starters to get the ball rolling. Though, if you’re not super into surprises, we recommend getting their Pattaya Meal Set which includes 3 starters and 3 mains.
If you want something sweet at the end of your meal, try out their sticky toffee pudding. Its earthy undertones can serve as the perfect way to transition from a very flavorful meal!
Although we would love to see more operating days since they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. This would offer more chances for people to try their food.
