We got a bit drunk in this winery in Ireland (totally worth it)!
My sisters and I have been dreaming about visiting a proper winery in Ireland since we were kids. Back then, we had to make do with grape juice in fancy glasses and a DIY ‘charcuterie board’ made of crackers and whatever cheese we could find in the fridge.
It also took us a while to save up for the real deal—a full-on Irish winery trip with wine tasting, team-building activities, and retail therapy at the gift shop. If you ask us, it’s worth every cent. Check out our experience with pro tips below!

Wicklow Way Wines is a winery in Ireland that we think you’ll have a blast visiting at least once. It’s one of its kind and is popular for its award-winning berry wines. Trivia: There are no grapes in the drinks!
We bet you’ll love the locally sourced ingredients. This includes strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and wild elderberries—all carefully hand-picked too. We appreciate that the practices here are eco-friendly. Guilt-free for drinkers!
On top of that, we love the lovely location in Wicklow. You’ll find yourself surrounded by serene views near the mountains. Besides that, you can learn about fruit winemaking from vine to bottle. There are loads of fine, gift-worthy bottles with lovely packaging too!
Pro tips:
- Since Wicklow Way Wines is the only winery in Ireland at the moment, we believe the slots get filled up fast. Make sure to book ahead to secure your spot!
- We recommend visiting midweek so you can avoid crowds and have more time to chat with the winemakers. Be sure to ask all your questions too—don’t be shy!
- If you’re buying bottles, you can keep them cool and fresh by buying a cooler bag beforehand. This way, all of you (except the designated driver) could enjoy them on the way home!
