The best time to visit the Wicklow Mountains is from April to September. Visitors can expect milder temperatures and relatively less rainfall. May is a favorable month due to its blooming flora and moderate weather.
The extended daylight is better for camping and allows time to explore the trails, including the popular Wicklow Way, which spans approximately 129 kilometers. However, summer can also bring more crowds, especially on weekends.

1. St. Kevin’s Bus
The St. Kevin’s Bus is a private bus service from Dublin to Glendalough. To use this service, head to St. Stephen’s Green Park in Dublin, where you can catch the bus at the north entrance opposite Stephen Court.
Tickets can be purchased directly on the bus, costing approximately €13 for a one-way trip and €20 for a return. The journey takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes, and the bus stops at the Glendalough Visitor Centre, making it a convenient option for visitors.
2. Train to Bray or Greystones
You can take the DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) train from Dublin city center to Bray or Greystones. From there, you can connect to local bus services or taxis that will take you further into the Wicklow Mountains.
The DART runs frequently, typically every 10 minutes to Bray and every 30 minutes to Greystones, making it a convenient option. Once you arrive at either station, check local bus schedules or consider a taxi for the final leg of your journey.
3. Local Bus Services
