The Boco Bar + Oven is an Italian pizzeria set inside a handsome brickhouse, offering a premium pizza experience with starters and desserts.

For starters, we’d recommend their buffalo wings the most. It’s wood-fired, straight from their authentic French oven. It comes with a homemade blue cheese dip that softens the spice and is a delicious partner with any kind of pizza.

Their pizza menu has a wide variety of options. Other than over 13 pizza flavours, they have a number of gluten-free and vegan options.

We enjoyed their classic pizza, #2, in particular which has the basics of tomatoes, mozzarella, and pepperoni. The craft of its cooking elevates the simplicity of the meal, as the woodfire bakes the pizza and its fresh ingredients to a delectable crisp.

They also have a collection of alcoholic beverages, from cocktails to wine. We like that they offer more elegant drinks with their pizza, resulting in a relaxing but lavish experience.

The only downside is that their restaurant is packed during weekends. It’s better to reserve a table beforehand or, instead, to have your pizza delivered. But for the deluxe pizza experience, it would be best to take a seat in the Boco Bar + Oven.

Pros

  • Gluten-free and vegan options
  • Options for alcohol
  • Great flavor
  • Friendly and accommodating staff
  • Has delivery & takeaway

Cons

  • Reservation-only for weekends
  • Limited information on website

Situated in one of the busiest places in Dublin, Sano Pizza stands out as a pizzeria that provides Neapolitan flavors with authentic Italian cooking.

They offer over ten pizza flavors, with around 21 additional toppings and a choice of gluten-free dough and vegetarian cheese. Their pizza can also come with a dip, such as garlic or blue cheese.

We’d recommend the timeless Margherita pizza which comes with fresh mozzarella, basil and tomato. It’s cooked in high heat woodfires, with dough handmade and proofed days before.

They’re also known for their wide selection of desserts – you can choose from a simple ice cream to a Nutella pizza! But our choice would be the tiramisu as its sweetness is an excellent palate cleanser after all the salt.

Unfortunately, the quality of their flavors does not translate well in delivery. It would often become soggy, the dough looking and tasting half-baked by the time it reaches you.

What we’d recommend is to go to Sano Pizza itself. Either dine there for a little piece of Italy in Ireland or order from their website for a pick-up.

Pros

  • Diverse toppings
  • Affordable pizza
  • Authentic Italian
  • Has delivery & takeaway

Cons

  • Unupdated social media
  • Inconsistent food quality

5 Star Pizza! Definitely Recommend!

“Myself and my girlfriend are here all the time. We love coming here simply because it’s a great pizza spot! The prices are really reasonable and the staff are on point. The pizza itself is delicious and brings back some memories from Italy. We would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner no matter the occasion. If it’s just a chill pizza night or more of a date night, it’s perfect for all! We have also gotten a take away before, but I do suggest eating in as the pizza could get a little cold by the time you get home (depending where you live).” — Ruta R.B.

Delicious!

“The pizzas are simply delicious! I had the prosciutto e funghi, my partner had the rucola. Didn’t even think about taking a photo, too busy enjoying it! They came really quickly and the staff was lovely! 100% recommended!” — Ana T.

Wallace’s Asti is a bar-pizzeria that balances cozy and upscale perfectly. By blending rustic charm and modern elegance, the atmosphere inside feels welcoming and sophisticated.

They offer not just Italian cuisine but Sardinian cuisine. Even though its roots are Italian, the food has its regional distinction that gives the standard meal a unique flair.

For instance, they offer a pizza called Black Pinsa based on an ancient Roman recipe that produces dough with a crunchy crust and soft center. Wallace’s Asti adds their personality by adding vegetable charcoal to the dough.

We enjoyed this very much with Parmigiana 2.0, a pizza that gives this unique bread a classical touch with tomato sauce, parmesan, and basil.

Unfortunately, they have only around ten pizza flavors and there isn’t a list of additional toppings to choose from. However, there are gluten-free and vegetarian options available.

Meanwhile, they have a diverse selection of wine, each carefully selected for the full and authentic Italian experience. Pair it with any of their wine to make your meal even more enjoyable. Suddenly, eating pizza is not only comfy but also premium.

Pros

  • Unique experience
  • Authentic Italian

Rascals Brewing Company is an unexpected blend of crafted beer and homemade pizza. Their decor is rustic yet modern in a masculine sense, resulting in a more easygoing and casual atmosphere.

Sadly, Their pizza menu is limited to around 11 flavors. They make up for it with their fun names, a wide selection of additional toppings, and quality cooking. We’ve chosen the Marinara pizza as our favorite for its simple but fresh ingredients.

The simplicity is a lovely pairing to a plain crafted beer. We’d recommend the Rock Shandy Pale Ale for its zesty, tart lemon flavor to balance out the saltiness and savoriness of the pizza.

What we like about these flavors is that both of them, while straightforward, uplift one another. The pizza is detailed, the beverage well-mixed, and both delectably well-presented.

It clearly shows that these dishes were done with careful consideration, the kind that comes from a love for the art. Because of this artistic spirit in Rascals, it results in a unique and unforgettable pizza experience, priced affordably starting from €11.00.

For casual pizza-goers looking for a little more quality but at a reasonable price, Rascals would be the place to go.

Pros

  • Handcrafted beer
  • Well-made pizza
  • Reasonable pricing
  • Unique experience

Cons

  • Limited pizza menu

Customer Reviews

Great Beers, Great Food

“This venue is well worth a visit, especially if you are open to trying different beers that are a break from the norm. Rascals have a great core selection of beers, and some great alternatives from other craft brewers. They have a varied pizza and dessert menu, which taste amazing, and to round it off, very reasonably priced. Well worth the trip.” — Marian M.

A Rare Find!

“We ate at Rascals because we’re staying just a couple of hundred metres away, but I reckon it would have been hard to find a better place to eat in Dublin. The pizzas were amazing. The beer, brewed on the premises, was brilliant and the service was great. There was a great atmosphere on the Friday night. If you’re anywhere nearby, do call in!” — Rory Francis

Our experience at Pinocchio pizza place was enjoyable. Ordering was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. However, the wait time for our pizza was longer than expected.

The quality of the pizza at Pinocchio was excellent. The crust was crispy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. We particularly enjoyed the variety of options available on the menu.

Further north up of central Dublin is a family restaurant called Little Richard’s. They offer  traditional Italian cuisine, focused entirely on pizza. With over 21 flavors, there is a varied selection to choose from.

They boast that their pizzas are baked by an authentic woodfire oven, shipped from Italy—and they’re correct! It produces a pizza with the perfect crust crunch and crisp toppings.

What we loved was their signature pizza, the Little Richard. It’s made with tomato sauce and mozzarella, topped with parmesan, pork sausages, and a sprinkle of spinach and fresh chillies. The flavor is meaty with a touch of spice, satisfying until the end.

But what we enjoy the most is the choice to “Build Your Own Pizza”. The basis is a Margherita, with over 23 toppings to choose from. It makes the pizza experience even more fun and memorable.

The rest of their menu is then supplements to their pizza. We’d recommend their homemade black truffle garlic dip that gives the pizza a delicious richness; and for dessert, their ricotta cannoli. The sweetness is excellent to conclude the meal with.

Little Richard is the go-to for all pizza lovers invested in the true Italian pizza experience.
