If you’re into hiking, mountaineering, and camping, we recommend The Outdoor Adventure Store. Not that the store doesn’t have other outdoor sports equipment, but their trailing and hiking inventory is so extensive you’ll find everything here!
It’s actually a well-stocked shop, most especially for camping, hiking, watersports, camino, travel, skiing, and trail running. You can check out their website, which is very comprehensive by the way, so you don’t have to travel far just to see their inventory.
On the other hand, if you do visit the physical shop, we think you’ll love how organised it is. It’s easy to find what you need because the equipment is divided per section and are categorised properly.
To add to this, The Outdoor Adventure has a display area. We love that you can see the actual products and how they’re assembled and used, making it easier for you to decide which to buy or inquire about.
Speaking of inquiry, the in-store staff are very helpful. Regular customers of the store told us that the customer service is exceptional—the staff know what they’re doing and will help you any way they can without hesitation.
We appreciate that they can answer your questions about all of their products. They can also suggest alternatives just in case your budget can’t accommodate the equipment you want.
One of the things that need improvement though is the responsiveness to customer inquiries. The store replies late to emails, and that turns some customers off because they need information regarding certain products.

Outstanding Customer Service. I purchased a pair of Berghaus boots a year ago and the seal between the upper and sole started to crack. I visited the store, and the issue was reviewed very courteously and knowledgeably by Steve Fahy. He photographed the problem and indicated that he would contact Berghaus. If there’s one thing that makes Cotswold Outdoor Dublin stand out to us, it’s the customer service. Now don’t get us wrong—the store has quality outdoor sports equipment—but it’s the way customers are treated that makes it more special.
For one, the in-store staff are very attentive. We appreciate that they’re available to help answer your questions or find the equipment you need, but they also don’t hover and allow you to browse through the displays.
Second, the post-purchase service is fantastic. If you have issues regarding their products, all you have to do is call or bring the equipment back and the staff will easily attend to it—with a proper apology and a quick action.
Another thing, we also love that Cotswold Outdoor has an extensive inventory. You’ll find a lot of brands and equipment—from clothing to navigation equipment—and at a fair price!
If you’re a tourist, we think you’ll love to hear about this—Cotswold Outdoor is a tax-free shop! Just remember to get the form so you can have a tax refund before you leave the country.
One thing we think the shop needs more of though is watersports equipment. Sure, they have all the watersports clothing, but some customers will look for surfboards, kayaks, and paddles, which the store doesn’t have.
Also, just a little warning that the store easily runs out of stock. You might want to call for reservations or pre-order in advance.
