It’s heavy-duty and can withstand being sat on for 24 hours. That’s why a lot of offices with 24/7 operation use this kind of chair. It’s truly heavy-duty.

Most 24-hour chairs are expensive because of this. Depending on the materials used and other additional features, this chair can reach the $2,000+ price range.

It’s a little out of reach, to be honest. And if you’re like the rest of us who don’t want to fork thousands of euros for a chair, ALTON is a practical alternative.

We think its price point of €349 is reasonable, considering you’re getting a 24-hour chair with lots of good features.

The seat slide and lumbar pump allow you to change the shape of the backrest to specifically fit yours.

It also has an asynchronous mechanism so you can adjust the tilt of the backrest and seat independently of each other. This way, you can vary positions you find most comfortable.

You can’t find that feature in ordinary office chairs, which is what we love about 24-hour office chairs.

Sadly, it doesn’t have a headrest. But the rest of the parts can be adjusted: depth and height of the seat, backrest and armrests. Which we think is pretty cool.

Berta is a high-end executive office chair that offers both neck and back support.

But what we like most about it is, the headrest is not just adjustable, it’s also padded to make it extra comfy. You can say bye-bye to neck pain once you use this chair!

Like the 24-hour chair, you can also adjust its seat and backrest at the same time. It has a gas lift for the chair’s height adjustment, too, all of which we think are great features.

But one other thing that caught our eye is how it looks. Call us vain, but who says your office can’t look a little flashy?

The backseat is made of mesh with an aluminium frame and black armrests, which in our opinion, is perfect for the green seat and headrest. A chair like this can certainly add a bit of colour to your office if it’s looking a little boring!

We just wish the armrests weren’t fixed in place.

The first extra we like about this chair is the ultra-thick padded seat. It gives the chair a look of solidity, no explanations needed.

You instinctively know it won’t give no matter how heavy you are even if you plop down on it. It’s super comfortable too.

Harvey Norman offers 37 office chairs to choose from.

Compared to others, that’s not a lot of choices. But we decided to add Harvey to this list because they have some of the cheapest but quality office chairs in the market.

While other companies offer ergonomic chairs at a minimum of €199, you can get them from Harvey’s at only €159, or even lower if it’s entry-level.

Some of their office chairs are on clearance sale, so you might want to check them out too.

They also have other stuff you might need for your office and home: desks, computers and tablets, furniture, mattresses, tv.

We like shopping (who doesn’t, right?). But we don’t like going outside lately for fear of catching the virus.

And while online shopping is a lot more common now, Harvey Norman doesn’t just offer any online shopping—they have 3D virtual shopping. You can explore their stores as if you’re actually there, but without leaving the safety of your home.

They even have a measuring tool so you can check the dimensions of the desk or sofa you want to buy. That way you’d know beforehand if the furniture fits your space.

If you don’t like online shopping, you can use it to locate items you want to buy and make sure it’s in stock before heading out, which we think is pretty neat.

Delivery is nationwide, but it isn’t free though. At least they don’t charge additional VAT.

And unlike other companies with crappy customer service when it comes to returns, refunds, exchanges and cancellations, it’s normally processed at Harvey’s in just 7 days.

AJ doesn’t have a wide range of office chairs, but they do have the 24-hour kind. Not all companies sell this chair type and it’s great that AJ is carrying several of it.

They have high-end, which we admit is pretty steep. But they have affordable ones that go in the €300+ range.

Aside from office chairs, they also have storage cabinets, lighting, bookcases, wall clocks and other office accessories. It’s a plus that you don’t need to go anywhere else to complete the interior of your office.

 AJ offers office package deals too, so if you’re looking to buy in bulk for your office or home, you may find a good deal here.

We think it’s a thoughtful gesture that you can buy your chair with a desk. We know how annoying it could get to find the perfect chair only to find it doesn’t really fit your desk. So there.

AJ delivers all throughout Ireland for free if your purchase is over €199. That saves you more or less €10, which isn’t bad.

Big items are shipped flat-packed though, to save costs. But they can assemble it for you if you like, for an extra charge.
