Website: ntc.ie

Address: 15-16 St Joseph’s Parade, Dorset Street Upper, Phibsborough

Contact: (01)-882-7777 | [email protected]

Schedule: Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

The National Training Centre Dublin operates as the exclusive provider of European Neuromuscular Therapy.

They combine science-led principles with real-world clinical skills. For example, their holistic training pathway stood out for its integration of the modern concept of fascia research.

I loved how they teach to treat the whole person instead of isolating standalone physical symptoms. Their approach sets a rigorous standard compared to typical day spa routines.

Graduates walk away with dual-accredited credentials recognized globally. This makes them prepared for professional careers.

Just keep in mind that the neuromuscular curriculum strictly focuses on clinical pain management and soft tissue injury rehabilitation. If you want to learn general relaxation techniques, you won’t find them here.

Enrolled students must also be completely comfortable giving and receiving physical treatments with their peers. This mandatory practical participation won’t accommodate your personal privacy preferences if you’re shy.

Pros

  • Massive 11,000+ graduate network
  • Flexible part-time blended structures
  • Structured five-unit learning path
  • Global health insurer recognition

Cons

  • Doesn’t include relaxation techniques
  • Mandates peer physical contact

Highly knowledgeable instructors

I couldn’t recommend the National Training centre enough. Not only for their fantastic course material and delivery of the same, but for their continued support to past and present pupils. I was a student in 2011/12 and have been able to run a successful clinic in Letterkenny. The National training centre provided me with the tools to be able to open my business as soon as I qualified. 9 years later the best compliment I can give is I don’t feel like a past student they continue to provide any support needed through the association. Forever grateful to John Karen and Greg and all the excellent tutors

Challenging but rewarding

The National Qualification in Exercise, Health Studies and Personal Training course.

It helped me to create the perfect harmony between my dreams and myself. I’ve been involved in sports all my life and when I came to Ireland the fitness industry became my new challenge. Glad to have found NTC as my mentor.

2. Holistic College Dublin

Address: First floor, 14 Main St, Townparks

Contact: (01)-895-6337 | [email protected]

Schedule: Monday: 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM, 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM; Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM; Thursday: 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM; Friday: 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Securing recognized qualifications is crucial, so I was thrilled to find Holistic College Dublin. They deliver a dual diploma pathway regulated directly by the International Therapy Examination Council and Ofqual.

When I sat in on one of their evening lectures, I noticed they use proprietary educational materials authored directly by the college founders. I appreciated that the instruction was highly structured, and the students were clearly absorbing advanced concepts.

The school also maintains a flawless examination track record. Because of this, recent sports therapy graduates consistently secure high marks.

However, gaining entry into their advanced therapeutic tiers isn’t easy, as it requires you to hold specific pre-existing diplomas. You also have to shoulder some extra logistical responsibilities before attending classes.

Plus, items like essential gear aren’t provided, so students must personally purchase and transport them. Specific linens and matching uniforms, though, are covered by the school.

Pros

  • 24/7 custom portal access
  • Over 30 years of experience
  • Three independent training tiers
  • Transparent structured instalment plans

Cons

  • Doesn’t admit beginners to advanced tiers
  • Doesn’t provide essential physical gear

3. Obus Wellness Centre

obus-wellness-centre

Website: obus.ie

Address: 3/4 Mill Lane

Contact: (01)-628-2121 | [email protected]

Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM

If you want broad therapeutic exposure, Obus Wellness Centre is a fantastic choice. They provide foundational diploma pathways widely in Ireland.

They operate as the sole training facility in the country formally accredited by the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists.

That means earning a certification here means you also gain access to a dedicated mentoring service for ongoing advice.

After giving them a call, I learned you can expect to study robust essential oil application and specialized massage modules for pregnancy.

However, preparing for home study requires a noticeable out-of-pocket investment. Enrolled individuals must independently procure their own clinic uniform, essential oils, and a physical treatment table.

In addition to that, professional certification exam fees aren’t included in the tuition fee.

Pros

  • Extensive complementary subject range
  • 24 years of proven longevity
  • Modern purpose-built laboratory spaces
  • Immediate pregnancy specialization modules

Cons

  • Doesn’t include professional examination fees
  • Mandates expensive home equipment purchases

Highly recommended holistic massage course

I’ve just completed the 12-week Holistic Massage course here at OBUS, and I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough.

From start to finish, it has been an amazing experience, both professionally and personally.

Grainne was an exceptional teacher. Her depth of knowledge, experience, and genuine passion for holistic therapy really shone through in every class. She has such a calm, supportive way of teaching and explains everything so clearly, making even the more complex aspects of anatomy and technique easy to understand.

High-quality training and practical tips

I have attended several massage courses at Obus Academy over the last 12 months and can’t speak highly enough of them! They were all delivered at very high quality, full of valuable information and practical tips. I’ve learned so much, not only the theory behind each topic, but also hands-on practice. Most courses also had online videos to revisit the techniques, which was really useful. I’m looking forward to further courses with them.

4. Aspen Beauty & Holistic College

Website: aspensbeautycollege.ie

Address: 10 Glenlyon Grove, Ballycullen Road

Contact: (086)-827-9001 | [email protected]

Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday to Sunday: By Appointment

Finding personalized instruction can be difficult, but Aspen Beauty & Holistic College strictly prioritizes individualized support. They restrict enrollment to a maximum of four students per session to ensure quality.

A former colleague of mine trained here, and she appreciated how every vocational pathway carries official Associated Beauty Therapists accreditation.

They even hold the title of Beauty Training Academy of the Year for 2024.

I love that their curriculum covers fundamental Swedish full-body techniques and specialized hot stone therapies. Mastering these physical modalities requires focused, direct instructor guidance.

Unfortunately, the strict capacity caps mean you won’t easily secure a spot in your preferred module. The physical training hours also lack a unified daily schedule since timetables depend entirely on the specific course selected.

Pros

  • Personalized one-on-one instructor support
  • Comprehensive technical training repertoire
  • Flexible full and part-time modes
  • Adaptable student payment formats

Cons

  • Won’t easily guarantee module placement
  • Lacks standardized daily timetables

Incredible, knowledgeable, and supportive teachers

I had an amazing experience at this beauty course school! Neelam was incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and truly passionate about what she teach.

I came here for the course with Basic Skin Care and I come back week after for another certification from Indian Head Massage.

I can recommend this school to everyone!

Meticulous teaching and patient professionalism

Teacher Neelam Jethi teaches very carefully and meticulously, paying attention to every detail. She has many years of teaching experience and is very patient and professional. I am very happy with my time here learning and have gained a lot of professional knowledge about wax. If anyone else wants to learn about beauty and massage, coming here to study would be a good start.☺️

5. The European College of Reflexology and Massage

the-european-college-of-reflexology-and-massage

Website: ecrm.ie

Address: Main St, Rahardrum

Contact: (087)-657-2683 | [email protected]

Schedule: Thursday to Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The European College of Reflexology and Massage stands out as a unique academic provider. In fact, they’re the recommended training facility on the National Reflexology Register of Ireland. This raises their validity as an exceptional institution.

According to students, they simplify instructions, making learning with them less complex and easier to follow along. I also like that you can easily balance family commitments by attending their flexible weekend and evening sessions.

However, gaining admission isn’t possible unless you hold pre-existing qualifications in anatomy.

Securing your final professional certification also demands absolute commitment to the rigid attendance policy. You aren’t allowed to miss any units, and passing all formal assessments is completely mandatory.

Pros

  • Flexible evening and weekend schedules
  • Exclusive returning graduate tuition discounts
  • Accessible pay-as-you-go fee structures
  • Simplified plain English anatomy instruction

Cons

  • Doesn’t admit students without prior qualifications
  • Doesn’t allow flexible attendance for units
