The 5 Best Event Spaces in Dublin

Whether it be an intimate dinner or a large wedding reception, choosing a venue is one of the most crucial parts of event planning. So, if you’re at a loss for where to begin looking, you’re in luck!

We’ve combed through the whole city and hand-selected the best event spaces in Dublin! Our article includes a comprehensive review of what we think of the venue and why you should consider booking them for your next celebration.

How much do event spaces charge?

Unfortunately, there’s no one-size-fits-all cost to renting event spaces. This is because each venue tailors its services to the needs and specifications of your event.

Even so, venues often offer set packages to make things easier for you. This may come with a time limit and a certain number of tables, chairs, and the like.

That said, venues also often have additional services that you can avail of. These include caterers, waiters, renting of sound equipment, and more.

So, your overall cost will depend on the kind of services you avail of. Nevertheless, expect that event spaces alone start at around €205.

The Best Event Spaces in Dublin

To ensure that each entry is worthy of its spot on our list, we’ve assessed them based on the following criteria:

Variety – Whether it be for a private dinner, wedding reception, or birthday party, we considered event spaces that had a tonne of different venue options of varying sizes and styles to accommodate your event’s specific needs.
Service – To ensure five-star service, we eyed event places that had their own trained and professional catering crew, events coordinator, production staff, and more.
Accessibility – We looked at how easy it was to book and schedule events at the venue, get in touch with them, and the like.
Customer Service – We considered how professional their staff was in accommodating requests, taking care of guests, and ensuring that everything goes smoothly.

Here are our top picks for the best event spaces in Dublin.

If you’re on the hunt for an elegant and posh venue for your event, you may want to consider checking out No. 25 Fitzwilliam Place.

With more than 130 years of history within its walls serving as a family home, this well-preserved Georgian-style house has now become an events space for weddings, private dinings, and intimate corporate gatherings.

Another striking feature about this venue is that it’s handled by a team of individuals with extensive background and training in renowned hotels such as the Four Seasons and Fairmont Hotels.

Hence, it’s no surprise that their top-notch service is reflected in the sentiments of many of their past clients that we’ve gotten in touch with. Particularly, they’ve been praised for their attentive service and hospitality.

Focusing on the technicalities of their service, they offer four spaces to choose from: The Lovett Pearce Lounge, The Stapleton, The Eileen Grey, and The Gandon’s (I and II).

We also think it’s worth highlighting that all these spaces can accommodate at least 20 people. The Eileen Grey can fit up to 60 guests, while the Gandon’s can fit up to 40 separately and 80 together.

Since they can fit less than 100 people in all room options, No. 25 may be more suitable for those looking for an intimate event place.

Nevertheless, we think that their fine dining experience makes up for it. They have an in-house culinary team that can create sophisticated dishes with local ingredients based on the menu of your choice.

Oh, did we mention that they offer a 360-view  virtual tour, too? We like this feature because you can see first-hand what the space looks like.

Pros

  • Four venue options
  • Has an in-house culinary team for fine dining experience
  • Highly trained and experienced staff

Cons

  • Max of 80 guests
  • Closed on Sundays

Located at the heart of Dublin 2, Medley is a spacious private hire and event space that can house up to 250 seated guests and 350 standing.

Another stellar feature about Medley is that they have an open cooking station where you can see their in-house chefs in action as they make your food from your special and bespoke menu.

Oh, did we mention that they offer halal catering, too? This definitely caught our eye because of how inclusive it is for their Muslim guests.

On top of that, they also cater to vegans, vegetarians, and those with special dietary requirements. This definitely strengthened the positive impression they left on us because of how attentive they are to guests’ meals.

Aside from that, they have a cocktail bar that’s stocked with a variety of drinks. However, it’s unclear whether their drinks are free-flowing or not, so you’ll have to inquire if you plan on using the bar.

Plus, they even have a dance floor! We think this is a great touch to get people off their seats and have a good time bustin’ out their moves.

Having been in the event industry for a while, they’ve racked up quite an extensive list of recommended suppliers that you can view on their website.

We think this will surely come in handy if you’re still on the hunt for event consultants, florists, musicians, and more.

Another thing we looked into was their accessibility. We were glad to see that they have a disability access lift that will surely make it easier for those with mobility issues to get around the venue.

We were quite disappointed that they didn’t have a loading area. So, this may be a cause for concern because of how letting people down by the street can cause traffic.

Pros

  • Open daily
  • Can house 250 seated and 350 standing
  • Has in-house and catering for halal, vegan, vegetarian, and special dietary requirements
  • Has a disability access lift

Cons

  • No loading area

100/10

“Planning a wedding in Dublin (from the U.S.) should be scary but with the team at Medley it was truly a breeze!! From my very first contact with Chris I knew I was in good hands. His level of communication is top notch, always responsive and helpful, which speaks volumes to his professionalism considering our time difference. On our wedding day Bryan and the team were nothing short of amazing!!! All of you helped to keep the day calm and flowing perfectly! We know that was quite the task with the cast of characters we had in attendance!! I could not imagine having our special day anywhere else!!! Should I ever need to plan an event in Dublin again, Medley will be my first and only choice!! 100/10” – Erin Tyler

Would highly recommend

“Our company had a celebratory function here last night. The gin and prosecco reception was fabulous. The magician entertainer was a big hit with all and the food was divine. We partied out the evening with a great dj and the staff were fantastic all evening. Would highly recommend this for any function formal or informal big or small. A really top class venue.” – m lawlor

With the capacity to hold up to 700 guests, The Mansion House is a great place to check out if you’re looking for a grand venue.

This 18th-century building houses four event spaces: Glass Room Suites, The Lounge, Fire Restaurant, and the largest of them all, The Round Room.

We have to give it to them in terms of functionality, as the Glass Room Suites can be used separately or together to form one massive function room capable of housing up to 60 guests.

Meanwhile, the Fire Restaurant is available for exclusive breakfast or lunch functions. On top of that, you can even hire them for events that will take place in their other rooms, say The Round Room.

Bringing in the big guns, The Round Room is famous for its 19th-century interiors and massive size of 750 square meters. We think this makes it a viable option for exhibits, fashion shows, award ceremonies, weddings, and more.

Another thing we like is that you can even head onto The Lounge later on for some champagne and cocktails to cap off the night.

Despite being quite an old building, they’ve kept up with the times and have nearly any device you’d think you would need for an event. This includes stage beams, projectors, and more.

Pros

  • Offers catering
  • Can house up to 700
  • Has four venue options

Cons

  • Pricey

The Helix made it onto our list because of their array of spaces that can house a variety of events from musical theatre productions to meeting rooms.

They boast over 80 conference and breakout rooms, a main hall that can fit over 1,000 guests, and 1,000 bedrooms for guests to spend the night in after an event.

We think this definitely deserves a point for convenience, as it cuts back on travel time and the hassle of looking for nearby accommodation. If that doesn’t float your boat, their central location makes it easy to find accommodation that best fits your needs.

We also think they’re a great choice for performances because they have additional facilities that will surely make the production a lot easier. This includes dressing rooms, green rooms, a large loading bay, and more.

Overall, we’re happy with what we’ve seen so far as their venue options go. We were even more impressed by their bespoke catering services, as it’s made to fit your event budget and requirements.

To make things even better, they also offer free menu tasting, site inspections, and full-service event coordination.

To add to their list of pros, they have on-site parking that can accommodate over 900 vehicles. We appreciate the convenience, as looking for parking won’t be a cause for concern.

All said, we definitely have to give it to them in terms of convenience and size. So if you’re looking for a grand venue, The Helix may be the right place for you.

But here’s the hitch: The Helix is quite popular, so it may be difficult to book them. Hence, you may want to call in advance to see if there’s an opening nearby.

That said, it may also be quite packed if ever you book any of their other event spaces.

Pros

  • Wide selection of venue options
  • Has a large loading bay
  • Free menu tasting, site inspections, and full-service event coordination
  • Has on-site parking

Cons

  • Often booked

Aside from being a top-notch university, UCD is also known for their O’Reilly Hall, which, aside from graduations, this 900 square meter event hall is also used to host private events.

Unique to the O’Reilly Hall is they can host virtual and hybrid events, too. This is thanks to their advanced audio-visual technology that makes hosting any online event a breeze.

Plus, they also have an on-site conference and events team that can assist you in streaming, using their green screen, and more. We think this will be of big help especially since you won’t have to hire an external team to help with the technicalities.

Apart from that, they can also host weddings at their Ardmore House. Built in the 1800s, this historical gem can accommodate a cozy group of 40 people.

Their wedding package includes furniture, placards as well as assistance with the venue coordination, and even looking for and working with suppliers.

Did we mention that they also have a University Club Restaurant? This adds another point towards convenience, as you won’t have to hire external catering and can simply go to the restaurant for a quick meal before heading back to your event.

Aside from that, they have a number of meeting rooms that can host 12 to 70 people. We think this gives you ample space for either intimate or large-scale meetings.

All said, we do have to hand it to them for their wide variety of venue options. However, since they’re located at a school, the location may not be suitable for all.

Pros

  • Can assist and host virtual events
  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Has catering
  • Wide selection of venue options

Cons

  • Wedding venue can only host 40
  • Located at a school
