Dr. Grania O’Connell isn’t your ordinary dentist. Initially a mechanical engineer, Dr. Grania found herself wanting to become a dentist after several years of working in the mobile telecoms industry.
After earning her license in dentistry, she opened Cork Dental Care in 2009—a full-service general and cosmetic dentistry practise at the heart of the city.
She’s the dentist to see if you’re planning to get orthodontic treatments such as Six Month Smiles. We also like the fact that orthodontic consultations are free of charge, which already includes a free digital scan.
Together with her colleague Dr. Emma Vahey, they’ve made Cork Dental Care a trusted name among Cork City residents, and even those residing in surrounding counties.
They pride themselves on having a welcoming and friendly team and from what we’ve seen, they live up to it.
Apart from their wide range of dental services, we also like the fact that they provide patients with flexible financing plans through Flexi-fi. In fact, you may also be eligible for a free check-up once a year depending on your PRSI contributions.
Just take note that first-time patients will have to pay a €20 booking fee when making an appointment. Don’t worry though: this will be refunded to you in full when you attend your appointment.

Check out what Dr. Grania’s previous patients have to say:
“I cannot recommend Cork Dental Care enough!! Every time you walk through the door you get the warmest welcome. A special thanks to Dr. Grania O Connell for her amazing work, her attention to detail is superb. She will go above and beyond for you and makes you feel so at ease during every visit. Thank you for making me smile Grania.” —Ciara Daly, Google Reviews
“I first heard about Cork Dental through word of mouth (excuse the pun) in work and I only heard good things so I decided to check it out and for a guy who isn’t very fond of the dentist I must say I was pleasantly put at ease by all the staff from when I walked in for my first check up Dr.Grainne and her team. I decided to go for The Invisalign treatment which was under Dr.Grainne herself, she took me through the full Invisalign process which consists of a full breakdown of how my teeth will look on a 3D computer system ( the coolest part) from start to finish and once that was finished I honestly could not wait to get started. I am now on my 11th set out of 14 and i notice such a big change already my over crowding has levelled out, my teeth are so straight and the process has been super easy and very little to no discomfort throughout. I would happily recommend there professional services to anybody who is in anyway shy of the dentist, they really look after you inside there and serviced with a smile. Thank you Cork Dental Care.” —Alex Moore, Google Reviews
