Aniar is a great cooking class and a popular first class restaurant in Galway, Ireland because of some reasons.

First, it offers a comprehensive six-week ‘Understanding Food’ lesson that takes you through the basics of cooking, from ingredients and techniques to meal planning and presentation.

You’ll learn how to cook everything from simple dishes like omelets and salads to more complex meals like risotto and pasta bakes.

What’s impressive here is that this restaurant is Michelin-starred, which means learners get to learn from the best cook.

In fact, chef patron JP McMahon here has more than 12 years teaching experience, so he knows what it takes to make your lessons fun, engaging, and most importantly—useful!

We love that its lessons are tailored to meet your needs. Whether you’re looking for something quick and easy for those busy nights or want something more in-depth for when you have time off work.

We also find its Day Workshop helpful when you want to learn a specific popular cuisine or food presentation. This covers Japanese, Contemporary Irish, French, vegan, and Italian Cuisines.

What’s more, this restaurant has transparent pricing. You’ll never need to wonder how much tuition will cost at Aniar.

They also offer flexible payment plans! So if paying upfront isn’t an option for you they’ll work with you to find a solution that works.

Take note, though, that you need to pay a required deposit fee for its pricey courses. Don’t worry, these get refunded if your slot gets canceled.

Pros

  • Comprehensive six-week lesson
  • Taught by a Michelin-starred restaurant
  • 12 years teaching experience
  • Specific Day Workshop

Gained so much

“...I gained so much from the Understanding Food course. As a fairly competent home cook I particularly enjoyed the creative aspects of the course and was fascinated at seeing a top chef at work. I was genuinely sad when the course came to an end because I had enjoyed every single minute of it…” – Niamh Mannion, portion of review at The Taste

If you’re looking for a cooking class that’s great for your kids, Healthy Ever After is the perfect choice.

The first reason we think this is a great cooking class in Galway is that it’s ideal for children. The lessons are interactive and fun, so your child will be engaged and excited about the food they eat.

Another reason why Healthy Ever After is a great cooking class is that it offers an effective cooking program.

The lessons are taught by an experienced nutritionist and chef who makes sure you’ll learn how to make healthy meals at home that your whole family will enjoy.

We love this institution’s Kids Cooking Camp that allows children 8 years old and older to thrive in a professional kitchen while they have fun through interactive lessons on cooking and eating.

The third reason is that it offers flexible pay per class options so you can choose how much time or money you want to spend on learning new skills. In fact, this option allows you to select the date and lesson that you want.

Also, the teacher Fiona McEnroy is an experienced nutritionist who knows exactly how to teach you everything. She knows about healthy eating habits so you can start making healthier meals at home right away!

However, this place is only ideal for kids and doesn’t mention much about professional adult cooking lessons. The slots are also limited, so you have to check on the slots and book in advance.

You can still assist your child in some of the courses, so it’s a great way to be in the kitchen and be with your loved ones.

Pros

  • Ideal for children
  • Interactive lessons
  • Effective cooking program
  • Offers Pay Per Class

Cons

  • More on children courses
  • Limited slots

Customer Reviews

 Knowledgeable and patient

We have enjoyed both classes in person via Sumer Camps and online via Zoom classes. Fiona is knowledgeable, patient and makes the classes fun. Her recipes are healthy and delicious which is a total bonus. It would be easy to do regular cooking with children but to make the food super healthy too is amazing. Keep up the great work Fiona and thank you!” – Olivia Collins

Fantastic camp

My daughter attended the kids cooking camp, she is quite shy but really enjoyed herself. She is still using the recipes and spends time either in thr kitchen or watching cookery shows. Fantastic camp, brilliant recipes and we certainly enjoyed sampling the food each day. Thank you Fiona, highly recommended.” – Patrick Nolan

Looking for a cooking class that’s great for teens and adults alike? Look no further, Cookalicious’ lessons can have fun and learning accommodated at the same time.

We love how convenient those courses are here. You can take the class from anywhere with an internet connection, which means you don’t have to worry about traveling or commuting to be taught.

Cookalicious also offers different topics and courses, so there’s something for everyone.

Whether you want to learn how to make vegan meals, find healthy recipes for kids, or discover new ways to use fruits and vegetables in your cooking, Cookalicious has something for you!

The group sessions are another awesome feature of Cookalicious that can serve up to 100 individuals.

These group cookalongs are perfect for those who want to learn how to cook together with friends or family members, and it makes great corporate team-building activity too!

Also, it doesn’t only teach adults, but also gives a fun way for teens to spend their summer vacations with some new skills. This is through the teen cooking camps that run on several days.

Another thing we like here is the doable recipes. They’re not too complicated and don’t require a lot of ingredients, thus making it easy for anyone to follow them, even beginners!

Just like other online classes, the con here is you have to have your own equipment or kitchen in this case, to be able to keep up with the lessons. Take note also of the varying class hours, though you’ll always be notified when the glasses take place.

Pros

  • Convenient online cooking class
  • Varying topics/courses
  • Good for group sessions
  • Great for teens

Cons

  • Requires own kitchen for online class
  • Varying class hours
