SERVICES★★★★☆ (4/5)

Among the renowned neurologists in Dublin is Dr. Colin Doherty, MD FRCPI, a consultant neurologist at St. James’s Hospital and a professor of neurology at Trinity College Dublin.

We’re impressed by Dr. Doherty’s experience that says a lot about his expertise. No wonder he is known in Ireland as one in the field of neurology specializing in epilepsy.

He has been practicing for over 20 years and has become well-known for his work in epilepsy. For the past nine years, he has been the director of the epilepsy service at St James’s Hospital and has led the national clinical lead for the Epilepsy Care Programme in Ireland.

We also note his extensive publications as he has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles on epilepsy. In fact, he’s also among authors of textbooks in his field.

In terms of services, the neurology department of St. James’s Hospital has diagnostic and therapeutic services for all known neurological diseases. Aside from Dr. Doherty, a patient can also be checked by five other neurologists at the hospital.

It’s also reassuring to know that its department has neurophysiology, rehabilitation medicine, stroke service, psychiatry, and services for the elderly.

However, Dr. Doherty has no known private clinic in Dublin and his services are not detailed at the St. James’s Hospital.

Nonetheless, his experience makes him the go-to specialist for epilepsy conditions and the research on possible treatments.
