That’s why we won’t dare miss mentioning this legendary dance institution on our list of the best dance lessons studios in Belfast! Clarke’s Dance Studio is the oldest and longest-running school of dance in the city run by two generations of Clarke dancers.
It’s worth mentioning that owner and teacher, Alan Clarke, was honored with the British Empire Medal in 2017 in her Majesty’s birthday honors list. This is a prestigious award granted by the Crown to those who demonstrate outstanding civil or military service.
That award, on top of decades of dedication to sharing the art of dance to the community, is a testament to their excellence. So, if you want to sign up for dance classes, this studio should definitely be on top of your list!
We love that they offer a variety of dance classes, from Latin and ballroom to hip hop and K-pop. They even offer classes for soon-to-be married couples who’d like to learn a first dance routine for their wedding.
It’s great to hear from the current students that they have excellent instructors along with a very supportive environment for students of all ages and levels.

Customer Reviews
Been dancing for just over a year with SDAB. Came as a complete beginner with no experience, nerves and two left feet! Gradually over time, Phil, Meredith and Jenna have molded me into the dancer I am today by being challenging but fun!
I thoroughly recommend all of their classes, Bachata, Salsa and Kizomba. The monthly socials have great guest teachers and always have the best atmosphere. SDAB has such a friendly and welcoming vibe and if anyone is thinking of starting to dance, you can’t go wrong joining the latin dance community here. – John Wayland, Google Reviews
Incredibly supportive, uplifting environment where you can have fun, meet new people and learn to dance! Phil, Meredith, and the team create a wonderful atmosphere – I particularly appreciate the gender-equal approach to teaching, referring to “leads” and “follows” rather than “ladies” and “guys.” I only wish I had more time to attend classes as I’ve really enjoyed this space and the social events as well! – Natasha Lloyd, Google Reviews

The best thing about Dansa is that they offer classes for all ages, from kids as young as 18 months old to adults. So it’s a great activity for parents and kids, too!
We love that they offer a special class for Parents and Tots. These classes allow toddlers to immerse themselves in music with some storytelling, wherein they can copy basic movements and develop hand-eye coordination at an early age.
Apart from this special class, they also offer a range of classes for kids and teens. These include Introduction to Dance, Mini Tumblers (basic acrobatics), Classical Ballet, Adult Ballet, AcroDance, Lyrical, Jazz, Hiphop, Song & Dance, and Tap.
It’s great that they have an array of dance styles to choose from for kids and adults. Plus, they also have a Mums, Bums & Tums class which we appreciate, as this is meant for moms who’d like to stay fit while bringing their kids along.
We also like that they have two spacious studios which means they can accommodate more classes and students.
We were able to talk to some parents and it’s wonderful to hear that their kids love the classes so much and helped improve their confidence significantly.
For parents enrolling their kids, just take note that uniforms are required for purchase for the dance classes, which will be a separate payment. Another thing is that the studio is closed on Sundays and class schedules may change monthly.

My daughter age 10 has been doing Ballet with Diamontes since aged 3, as well as my son before this. Its always been hugely positive experience to be part of Diane’s vision for her dancers whom I have seen grown from toddlers to wonderful young adult dancers.
