Since Cobh is known as the last port call of the Titanic ship, Titanic Bar and Grill is usually frequented by people who are interested to learn more about it. The restaurant is near the Titanic museum, which gives you a full experience of the ship’s history.

The food is nothing short of amazing as well! In fact, the customers we talked to told us they loved how varied the menu was and how food was always served fresh and hot—plus, the restaurant arguably has the best fish and chips in Cobh.

Speaking of food, Titanic Bar and Grill has several choices of food—both local and international cuisines. The servings are large as well so we think it’s worth splurging on!

We also love the view, by the way! The restaurant is located right next to the harbour, which gives you a full view of the ocean.

If just in case you want to stay inside, the lovely interior and the cosy seats make you feel immediately relaxed. The staff are helpful and friendly as well, which adds to that warmth we always look for in any place we go to.

We think it’s worth noting though that you should book in advance if you want to make sure you’ll be able to eat here. The staff sometimes don’t accept walk-ins if the restaurant is full.

Sometimes the service is slow as well—it might take around 20 to 30 minutes for your orders to come. The bill takes a long time to arrive as well, so we advise you to extend your patience a little when you dine in.

  • Unique history
  • Good options for food
  • Lovely interior
  • Amazing view from the deck
  • Large serving
  • Food is always served hot and fresh
  • Helpful staff
  • Cosy atmosphere

Customer Reviews

Food is served fresh and warm

We happened to come across the Titanic and boy, I’m glad we did. We had fish and chips to share and it was more than enough. Lovely, fresh and tasty. What I did like especially was the staff, they were very young, but efficient and welcoming with great big smiles. It was a horrible day but I’d imagine sitting on the deck would be fantastic. A genuinely perfect lunch.— Jane B, Trip Advisor

Try the “Titanic Experience”

On vacation, did the Titanic experience and then fancied a drink. Entered this bar with no expectations. Stayed for dinner. Was blown away! Ordered the Chicken Supreme and it was Michelin standard. No exaggeration. This was top-quality food. The service was excellent as well. Highly recommend.—Stuart, Trip Advisor

What we love about O’Shea’s Bar is that despite its name which implies it’s probably for adults who love good local pints with their food, the restaurant is family-friendly. It has a kids’ menu that even the pickiest child will have something to choose from!

From local cuisines like fish and chips to international food like fries and burgers—you can find them at O’Shea’s Bar. We love that the restaurant is accessible since it’s near the train station and cruise ship terminal, making it easy to locate for hungry travellers.

It doesn’t have a proper website though, so you can’t see the full menu in advance. But you can always call or email if you have certain inquiries—they’re very responsive via email and calls.

Another thing we love about the restaurant is that the food is always served fresh and warm. In fact, according to customers, the quality of food matched the price, and they would have no qualms about paying more for food if it tasted this fresh!

The portions are huge too so we recommend taking your time eating while enjoying the view. The restaurant has cosy interior, but we think you’ll want to try eating outside—the view is perfect!

The only disadvantage we see is that O’Shea’s Bar seems to have a disorganised order system. There are instances wherein some patrons who order first are served last, and some who order last are served first.

Pros

  • Great food selection
  • Reasonable menu prices
  • Huge portions
  • Well-seasoned and well-cooked food
  • Family-friendly menu
  • Responsive to emails and calls
  • Has outdoor seating
  • Near the park and overlooking the ocean

Cons

  • Doesn’t have own website to view the menu in advance
  • Disorganised order system

Great food and great prices

We stopped here for food after a trip to Spike Island and I am so glad we did. The food here was fantastic the whole family thoroughly enjoyed the food which never happens with our family. We had goujons burgers and lasagne(the portion was huge) and we all enjoyed every bite. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food was so reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Cobh.—Jenni D, Trip Advisor

Lovely outdoor seating

Had a gorgeous lunch at the Commodore with family, lovely outside tables looking over at the park and the sea. The staff were so kind, couldn’t do enough for my kids and looked after anything we asked for, particularly my mother who has dietary needs. I had the chicken curry which was fab, the fish and chips were so tasty and the lasagna was a big hit, we got big portions all around. We’ll be back soon!—Darina G, Trip Advisor

If there’s one thing patrons come back to The Quays Bar & Restaurant, it’s the seafood. According to them, if you want to eat the freshest seafood in Cobh, this restaurant is a great way to start your seafood journey!

And they’re not joking—The Quays really has the freshest seafood. You can taste it on the first bite—the seafood meat is juicy and firm but soft!

We love that the restaurant also accommodates dietary restrictions. Other than having vegetarian options on the menu, you can also let the staff know if you want an ingredient or a seasoning taken out—they’ll immediately inform the kitchen.

Another thing we love about the restaurant is that it also offers great cocktails and has a unique wine selection. You can choose which of them to pair with your meal, and if you have no idea, you can ask the staff for recommendations—they know their Wine 101.

And then there’s the view—The Quays is located near the harbour so you can have a view of the ships and the ocean. It has outdoor seating as well so you can also enjoy the sea breeze while you enjoy your food.

Just a little warning though that the tables are too small for large groups so it can get a little crowded if you’re with a huge crowd. Also, orders arrive slowly during peak hours, which isn’t very convenient for the hungry.

Pros

  • Has outdoor seating
  • Serves great cocktails
  • Has vegetarian options on the menu
  • Seaview
  • Friendly staff
  • Fresh seafood
  • Has a unique wine selection

Cons

  • Tables are too small for large groups
  • Slow arrival of orders

Good food and a beautiful view

Beautiful location on the water and next to the port. The service was fantastic l, friendly, and very efficient. The owner, Noel, stopped by each table to ensure the meal was wonderful. We had the seafood chowder, fish & chips, and a draft Murphy’s, the local beer. Everything was wonderful; do not hesitate to stop in when visiting Cohb.—Greg Ki, Trip Advisor

Well-prepared dishes

Every dish was delicious and well prepared. Had calamari rings as an appetizer and they were probably the best I’ve had. Slow-roasted scallops were excellent and they had some great and unique wines to pair with your meal. Maitre’D was excellent and kept the staff on its toes. Also had a nice view of the harbour.—Rick D, Trip Advisor

Seafood is the specialty of Jacob’s Ladder Restaurant. If you want to eat good seafood dishes, the restaurant is worth the visit!

It’s connected to Water’s Edge Hotel, so it’s accessible to everyone. Just make sure you reserve in advance because it tends to get full since it also caters to hotel guests.

We love that outdoor seating is available as well because the view is too irresistible not to take advantage of. The deck overlooks the ocean, and you can witness the perfect sunset if you dine in late in the afternoon.

When we asked some customers for food recommendations though, they told us to try the fresh Irish mussels in white wine and herb sauce. They said it’s very flavourful and melts in the mouth—a must-order!

In addition to this, we also love the fact that despite the seafood reputation, the restaurant also serves other cuisines. In fact, Jacob’s is also known for its desserts and burgers!

The thing about Jacob’s is that it’s a little pricey, probably because it’s a hotel’s restaurant. However, we still recommend trying the food because it’s worth splurging your money on.

The service can be quite slow as well, which is a little inconvenient. But the staff are accommodating and friendly, ready to assist you if you need something before your food arrives.

  • Has vegetarian menu
  • Has outdoor chairs and tables
  • Offers free wifi
  • Wide selection of seafood dishes
  • Fresh seafood

We love that you’ll be welcomed by friendly staff who treat you like they’ve known you for a long time–while still maintaining professionalism. The bar’s patrons are friendly and fun as well so you don’t need to worry about not feeling welcome.

The food is amazing—traditional Irish food, some international food, and local beers! The price is decent as well so you don’t need to spend too much.

We also love the live music every weekend! The thing is, despite the fun atmosphere, the bar’s pretty chill, so it’s also the perfect place for a good conversation with friends while relaxing after a long day.

We think it’s a good place to chill too during colder months. The place has a fireplace that’ll keep you warm!

We think it’s worth noting though that Ryans Pub doesn’t accept reservations. You have to come in early or outside of peak hours if you want to get a table.

In addition to this, the pub tends to get easily full even with outdoor seating available. It’s because it’s quite a small restaurant and can only accommodate a small group of people at a time.

Great pub. Great owners. A small pub with a big heart. Family-run and a welcome for everyone. And you couldn’t meet nicer people than Paul and Gemma who always put their customers first. One of Cobh’s best pubs for a long time.—Bernard Griffin, Google Reviews

Family-friendly pub

A quick visit to Cobh to meet my partner’s family. We went into Ryan’s the first night and were warmly welcomed by host Paul. We were consequently in there on each day of our visit with great banter with Paul. Always a warm welcome and reasonably priced too. We will visit again next time we are over!—Ron, Trip Advisor
