One of the things we know about Established Coffee is that it’s not just a perfect spot for brunch, but also an ideal place for people who want to relax or even work remotely. It has a view of the cathedral—perfect for those who need some peace and quiet.
In fact, we’re able to catch up with some of the regular patrons of the cafe. They told us that other than the brunch menu, which was totally tasty according to them, they frequented the place to have some work done or just relax for a bit.
The cafe is quite spacious and clean. We love that there’s also good music playing in the background which makes for a fun but not loud atmosphere—probably the reason why it’s a favourite hangout place for young people.
And then there’s the extensive brunch menu, which everyone’s just raving about! We’re telling you it’s worth the hype—the coffee’s barking good and the black pudding’s really savoury and juicy.
If you have dietary restrictions, we think you’ll be happy to know that Established Coffee serves gluten-free and vegan options. There’s always something on the menu for everyone, even for picky eaters!
We think the staff are amazing as well because they’re very welcoming and attentive. Plus, they’re always available when you need assistance, which shows how much the cafe values its customers.
Possibly the only thing we’re a little rattled about is that Established Coffee can get really busy. And when it does, you have like about an hour limit to stay so others can also come in and eat.
Another thing to note from us—busy hours also affect the speed of service. Sometimes it takes 30 to 40 minutes for you to get your order because of the crowd.
Pros
- Extensive brunch menu
- Has vegan and gluten-free options
- Great coffee
- Spacious
- Clean and cosy
- Good music
- Amazing staff
- Reasonable price
- Has a nice view of the cathedral
- Frequented by young fun crowds
Cons
- Limited stay during busy hours (up to 1 hour)
- Slow arrival of food

Extensive brunch menu
One of the best coffee places i’ve visited in Belfast! Their coffee is absolutely divine, so is their chai latte. Their breakfast/brunch menu is also quite extensive, and everything we ordered was fantastic! I would definitely recommend a visit if you’re looking for a strong hit of coffee, and a quick delicious meal to start your day.— VY, Google Reviews
Friendly and accommodating staff
Wow! Really, really awesome breakfast / brunch in Belfast. We got here on a Sunday right before a massive line formed out the door and around the street, so we felt lucky we got a table! The food is delicious, the coffee is epic and the staff couldn’t have been nicer and friendlier! The black pudding was sensational!!— Paul Gleeson, Google Reviews

In fact, most of the customers we’ve had a little chat with said that nostalgia’s the main reason why they’ve become loyal customers. They said most items in the brunch menu remind them of home-cooked meals and cosy talks—things that gave them comfort.
It doesn’t mean the food isn’t good though—in fact, we think Grapevine’s worth the hype because of its great brunch selection. We love that the food is always served hot and fresh as well which means you’ll eat them when they taste the best!
The prices are reasonable too! Most brunch items on the menu are affordable and served with huge portions—definitely worth your money.
Another thing we think you’ll love—the outdoor seating! You get good food with a view, which, to us, is an ideal setup while enjoying a hearty meal.
Grapevine’s also accessible to everyone since it’s in the city centre. Though it’s quite a small cafe so you’ll probably miss it if you’re just casually walking around.

Homestyle cooking
Had a lovely sausage roll and coffee watching the world go by from this cosy cafe. Very pleasant service and attentive staff with some Belfast humour thrown in for good measure. An Oasis located between the two main shopping areas, even read some of the local papers while taking time out. A must stop for a tea/coffee or a bite to eat. The signature dish of Gumbo comes highly recommended from the Boss man, homemade each day. Tourists and locals alike seem to be visiting this quaint cafe and you should too—Darragh Gallagher, Google Reviews

Grapevine is one of those places that are known locally as a “best kept secret”
My partner & I have been coming back here time & time again & every time we’re in Belfast this is our 1st pit stop before a shopping trip. The Grapevine has by far, the best & most affordable lunch that we’ve ever had & it’s all part of the experience of going into Belfast city centre on a walk around the shops nearby. Doug, the owner & his friendly staff just get on with things without the pomp cos, not only are they too busy, but they also know us & always have a knowing smile that says they appreciate us coming back time & time again.—Ruairi Higham, Google Reviews

If you ask us, we think Bob & Berts is one of those brunch spots with the best customer service, hands down. Even during peak hours, the staff rarely mix up orders and are always attentive to the needs of the customers.
According to a couple of the restaurant’s regulars, their orders always arrive on time even if it’s busy. The staff move fast—they take your orders and make sure you get them just a few minutes later.
We love the wide selection of both drinks and food as well. But if you ask us what we recommend for brunch, we think you should try Bob & Berts’ eggs florentine—that perfectly cooked poached egg and that Hollandaise sauce go well together!
Just a note from us—we suggest going early or right after the lunch crowd. Bob & Berts can get really busy, so even if there are plenty of chairs and tables, you might wait for a long time if you go during peak hours.
Also, please expect some items on the menu to be pricey. However, we still think it’s worth splurging your money on Bob & Berts’ food because it’s always tasty and prepared fresh and warm.
Lastly, we also think Bob & Berts’ lovely interior is worth the praise. It’s minimalist and casual, which adds to the cosy and relaxing ambience of the place.

Best place to go for early brunch
Nice comfy place for an early breakfast before going to the day tour. Just everything you’re looking for in a breakfast place – lots of vegan and gluten free options, from sweet to savoury. Prices are reasonable, very filling, very friendly staff. 100% recommend!—Kasey Kaching, Google Reviews
Great value for money
Popped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning after spotting the vegan and vegetarian menu online. Really glad we did! Food was really fantastic and great value for the portion sizes, top quality vegan bacon and sausages with everything cooked perfectly. Coffee was great too. Friendly staff, zero complaints about the food or service. The toilets could use a bit of a clean as they were in poor shape on our visit and didn’t look like they’d been done properly for a while so that’s one negative of an otherwise very positive visit. We’ll be back!—Ribeard, Google Reviews
