Be Confidently Curly with These Hair Perm Salons in Ireland
You know what’s annoying? When your hair decides to be all curly in the front but totally straight in the back. It’s like, pick a lane, hair! I’m all about consistency, so having this mixed-up situation drives me nuts. I just want everything to look put together, you know?
So when it’s time to glam up for events, I go all out. Give me those princessy waves or some celeb-worthy curls, and I’m feeling like a million bucks! But let’s be real, the easiest way to keep those curls on point is with a good perm.
This is why my friends and I put together a list of our favourite hair perm salons across Ireland. Now, no matter where we are, we always have a great beauty spot near us. You can also explore the top picks we reviewed below!
How much does a hair perm cost in Ireland?
A hair perm in Ireland typically costs between €60 and €250, depending on the salon, hair length, and type of perm. Other factors include the stylist’s experience, products used, and salon location.
How We Chose
1. MARU HAIR TOKYO
VALUE FOR MONEY | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
BOOKING SYSTEM | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
SERVICE | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
COMMUNICATION | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
MARU HAIR TOKYO caught our eye because, as far as we know, it’s the only Japanese hair salon in Ireland!
From the get-go, we liked the serene feel of the place. This salon offers a wide range of hair services, and we think trying out the hair perm service here could be worth a shot.
We also appreciate that it offers 3 different options for hair wave services. For us, it’s a good idea to chat with them first to figure out whether a steam, spiral, or digital wave would work best for your hair.
Just a heads up, though. These chemical treatments can be more expensive compared to other services at the salon. Prices start at €297 and can still go up depending on your hair length.
But don’t worry! What’s impressive for us is that all the stylists here are fully qualified and experienced in Japanese cosmetology. We reckon they really know their stuff!
In our opinion, it’s also reassuring that their hair care products are okay for all types of hair. So no matter what your hair’s like now, we bet their perms should do the trick.
One thing to remember, though, is that if you have a preferred stylist, it’s best to let them know ahead of time. Sometimes they can get booked up or might not be available when you drop by.
Pros
- Unique Japanese style and processes
- Offers 3 hair wave treatments
- Peaceful, calming ambiance
- Skilled with all hair types
Cons
- Pricey wave treatments
- Limited slots

2. Edit Hair Club
VALUE FOR MONEY | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
BOOKING SYSTEM | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
SERVICE | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
COMMUNICATION | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Edit Hair Club is known for its expertise in colour treatments and haircuts in Ireland, but we dig its curling services too. If you’re up for just a casual perm, we feel this place is a solid choice.
We noticed getting temporary waves done here is cheaper compared to other spots in the city. You can snag a cut and blowdry package to get some waves, starting at just €20.
This price point makes us more willing to explore other services like half or full head colour. It offers colour corrections too, but you’ll need a consultation with them first.
If you’re thinking about extensions, we reckon this place is worth it as well. Costs vary depending on your hair length, so it’s something to keep in mind.
And don’t worry if you have really short hair—the stylists here seem to handle that well, judging by their portfolio.
Another perk for us is that the salon’s got 9 stylists on deck! Chances are, we believe they can squeeze you in if you’re in a rush. Still, we believe it’s wise to book ahead just in case.
Here’s something to keep in mind too: the salon is typically open for a whopping 12 hours from Wednesday to Friday. So plan well and use that to your advantage! Just remember that it’s closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Pros
- Affordable waves
- Big team of hairdressers
- Skilled with curling short hair
- Longer hours on selected days
Cons
- Sunday and Monday unavailability
Best Decision I’ve Made
“Amazing salon that I could not recommend enough. I changed to Edit about year and half ago and honestly best decision I made. Patrick and his team genuinely care about their clients and the minute you walk in you feel comfortable and at ease as all the staff are so friendly. 3. Stylistic Hair Salon
VALUE FOR MONEY | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
BOOKING SYSTEM | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
SERVICE | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
COMMUNICATION | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Stylistic Hair Salon is one of the most environmentally friendly spots for haircuts in Galway, Ireland! This works best with its colouring services, which we feel are great to have with a perm here too.
You can get a perm starting at €110, which we think seems fair compared to other salons nearby. But if you’re just after a curly blowdry or some GHD curls (done with a curling wand), you can save more than half the price.
We were also impressed by its portfolio, filled with all sorts of perms for different hair types and lengths! Some aren’t even full perms, either—just casual, wavy hairstyles and beautiful, curly updos. For us, these alternatives are worth exploring too.
And if you like what you see, it might also be worth looking into the wedding hair services. For us, the salon’s got some really stunning styles that are hard to ignore.
Nevertheless, a few people we spoke with mentioned that the customer service here could be better. Sometimes the staff aren’t that responsive, so we encourage having a little more patience.
Pros
- Eco-friendly processes
- Reasonable pricing
- Diverse portfolio for perms
- Offers wedding hair services
Cons
- Few complaints about client support

4. Cyril Morgan Hair
VALUE FOR MONEY | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
BOOKING SYSTEM | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
SERVICE | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
COMMUNICATION | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Planning to attend a beach wedding or a boho chic event? Cyril Morgan Hair might just be the right hair salon for you.
This salon specializes in curly blowdry and boho wave styling, which we believe is perfect for those occasions.
And with around 10 stylists, we feel finding a suitable replacement shouldn’t be a big issue if your preferred one isn’t available.
But what we like most is the salon’s specialty—its bodywave perms can keep your hair wavy and fabulous for anywhere from 2 to 6 months! Prices vary based on what you decide during your consultation, though.
Of course, too much styling can be tough on your hair over time. That’s why we like that this spot offers many treatments. It’s got Nioxin for thinning hair, acidic bonding for deep conditioning, Alfaparf treatments to clean out any gunk, and more.
Just keep in mind that certain blowdry services need a skin test at least 48 hours before the stylists can work their magic. We recommend chatting with the staff about it to avoid miscommunication along the way.
If you’re up for trying this place out, the salon is open 6 days a week (except on Sundays). On Fridays, it stays open for an extra 2 hours—we say use that to your advantage as you please!
Pros
- Accessible most days
- Skilled in boho waves and bodywave perms
- Plenty of treatments for damaged hair
- Longer Friday availability
Cons
- Some blowdry services require a skin test

5. Scruples Urban Hair Beauty Retreat
VALUE FOR MONEY | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
BOOKING SYSTEM | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
SERVICE | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
COMMUNICATION | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
If you’re on a tight budget, we like that Scruples Urban Hair Beauty Retreat is one of the more affordable spots for your next hair perm session in Ireland.
The salon’s bodywave treatments start at €98 including a haircut, or €80 with a blowdry. In our opinion, this sounds pretty reasonable, especially in a bustling city like Dublin.
Plus, its prices online already include the 9% VAT, so we reckon you don’t need to stress about extra costs. It’s nice that even the hair treatments here seem wallet-friendly too.
We also appreciate that there are other economical options here, such as the regular cut and blowdry duo, as well as the GHD curls.
One thing to remember, though, is that the salon’s online gallery isn’t totally accurate since it’s all just promotional stuff with models. We believe it’s better to drop by the shop and have a good discussion to see if their services are a good fit.
Also, keep in mind that you can only book an appointment by calling the staff. This is why the salon’s phone might be busy at times.
Pros
- Bodywaves already go with a cut or blowdry
- Among the cheaper Dublin spots
- Transparent and reasonable costs
Cons
- Need to call them to book
- Inaccurate online gallery photos
