After many failed attempts to get the wedding photography team we wanted, we finally raised the white flag. We asked for help from my distant cousins (and there are plenty), who had some of the loveliest wedding day photos we’ve ever seen.

Bokeh Photography & Film’s Irish team is known for its relaxed wedding photography in Galway. If you’re awkward or opposed to making scripted poses, we think this is a great option!
The team is all about capturing the day candidly, with all the laughs, tears, and even the fun and weird relatives. For us, this makes the day more unique and ‘you’.
There are 4 photography collections or packages to choose from. We think the most basic one with the pre-wedding consultation, photographer, coordinator, fully edited gallery website, fine art print, and a 3 to 5-minute slideshow is already comprehensive.
But if you want more, we feel the other packages with the book album and added videography services are worth looking into. We think the colour grading, pacing, and music selection are well done too.
Also, we appreciate that its photographers are flexible with the location. Besides Galway, you can get married in Dublin, Cork, or somewhere more remote, and they’re willing to find a way to make that work.
While this company currently has zero awards, we believe its past works are underrated. In our opinion, a lot of the photos in its portfolio look like they were taken straight from a romantic film!
Just note that the packages here are more expensive than those of other smaller, independent photographers. It still depends on what kind of photo keepsakes you prefer.

If you want a cinematic style, Alex Zarodov’s wedding photography is a good mix of documentary and traditional with artistic touches.
Among the three packages he offers, one covers a half-day wedding (up to 6 hours). It includes bridal and groom preparations until dinner, digital photos, an online sharing gallery, and a USB drive (for an extra charge).
But if you want to amp it up, there are other packages that cover bride and groom preparations until the first dance, drone photos and footage, an HD photo slideshow, and premium photo album prints.
Plus, there are numerous videography and service add-ons you can indulge in. The add-ons cover pre-wedding engagement shoots, bride and groom parents’ albums, second photographer, additional hours coverage, and even day-after coverage!
We’re also in awe that he has won a few awards, like the Best Wedding Photography from the Wedisson Awards, as proof of his top-notch work.
One client we talked to also commended the fast delivery of their initial wedding photos (10 to 15 fully edited ones). This took them less than 3 days! The remaining photos are typically ready within 4 to 6 weeks, but no longer than 10 weeks.
Nevertheless, one client we talked to mentioned getting a longer turnaround time than expected. Some photos or videos might take longer than 6 weeks here, so we recommend firmly discussing your timeline with the photographers beforehand.

Dillon Photography is a Galway-based company with availability throughout Ireland, even for odd destination weddings.
We think its photographer is really skilled in capturing vibrant and dramatic shots because he seems to have a great eye for colour.
His approach is also easy-going or ‘low-key’, as he shoots all weddings on his own. We reckon this lets the bride, groom, and guests go about the special day with authenticity.
We also appreciate that he organises his online portfolio into 3 parts: from the morning, through the day, and into the night. In our view, this can make the brides and grooms appreciate more key wedding moments from start to finish.
His finished images are also sent in colour and black and white on a stylish USB and presentation case. Lots of options here, we say. You’ll also get a password-protected online image gallery for 1 year, making them really safe.
On top of that, we admire that this photographer has won some awards over the years. One of which is the Wedding Photographer of the Year in 2017 by The Irish Professional Photographers and Videographers Association.

Joe Crean Photography was founded by two Galway wedding photographers who are known to bring a lighthearted vibe to your special day.
One of them is experienced with landscape photography, which we reckon suits timeless destination weddings that look straight out of a fairytale! They offer engagement or pre-wedding photoshoots too.
The photographers also know the best Galway spots for capturing stunning wedding photos. Plus, we find it convenient that they’ve worked closely with many local hotels to ensure a seamless experience.
We appreciate how thorough they are—the team scopes out the locations weeks in advance to ensure the setting, lighting, and surroundings. This also lets them come fully prepared for any weather because they always have a plan B.
It’s not surprising for us to see that these photographers are experienced in elopements too! From their portfolio, they seem to do great with small weddings.
Just keep in mind that the packages seem tailored for each client, as there are no fixed packages online.
And besides lacking video services, their packages aren’t listed online. Potential clients would need to reach out directly for a quote, and it would take more time to compare its prices with others.

Molten Sky is a boutique photography business that focuses on contemporary and creative wedding shoots, films, and elopements, as well as videography services.
We like that it boasts a young team of diverse individuals who can give a fresh approach to the wedding visuals. The main photographer is a former fine arts student too! We bet this is ideal for younger brides and grooms with unique themes.
For example, one couple had their pre-elopement shoot on a hike with vibrant backpacks. Another couple had theirs by a helicopter in the middle of a spacious field. We think there are a bunch of cool aerial drone footage here too!
Their wedding films have some of the coolest shots and music as well! In our opinion, anyone can come up with something more fun, and this team would be able to handle it.
Plus, it’s great for us that this team only uses flash when it’s absolutely necessary. There aren’t a lot of distracting flashes going off all the time on the photo and video shoots.
Still, we feel their style might not appeal to couples who prefer a more minimalist approach or a lower-budget shoot. For us, it’s best to have a vision board to see if your theme or motif matches your chosen photographer’s style.
