When I first started golfing, I just did what my dad and YouTube told me to. Unsurprisingly, I developed bad habits, like a rigid stance, a too tight grip on the club, and terrible driving overall.
That is, until I finally took a golf lesson from an actual professional who knows what to say and how to spot bad habits. It took me a couple of sessions, but all were worth it.

Brendan McDaid Golf Academy is nothing short of qualified, as he’s a PGA Professional golf coach in Dublin with over four decades of experience teaching golf. He’s also coached Peter Laurie during the golfer’s 2008 Spanish Open win.

His brilliant strategy focuses on solutions by using a practical, structured, and logical approach to golf. We weren’t at all surprised by his in-depth and crystal clear instructions, given that he’s worked with amateur and professional golfers.
In fact, he has conducted over 5000 sessions, including golf classes from his well-equipped Dublin studio. Furthermore, he’s able to provide 3D data capture to accurately analyse your swings.
You should know, a golf coach of his calibre means prices are a fair bit higher, from €110 to €260 per session. We found the inclusions quite comprehensive, although slots sell out like hotcakes.
Nonetheless, Diez remains quite flexible, as he offers in-person and online golf coaching. And that includes junior players aged 14 and under!

With two locations in Dublin, Sigmoid HQ has been one of our go-to for golf lessons in the county. As an indoor golf centre with 4,500 sq ft of space, beginner and advanced players can practice even when the season doesn’t allow it.
They’re a one-stop destination for golfing in Dublin, with golf lessons, putting workshops, Trackman simulator rentals, and custom club fittings. And they take sessions seriously, as you’ll train under PGA Professionals, including a 5-star pro.
Our experience was nothing short of exceptional, as the whole atmosphere was warm and professional—it didn’t feel intimidating for our casual golfer mates. The advice and instructions we received were easy to follow, and it helped that they made good coffee.
