Galway Atlantaquaria is located along the Salthill Promenade. It is the largest aquarium of native species in the country. It is EAZA-accredited, which means it is dedicated to educating people about marine conservation and the biodiversity in our waters.

One of the coolest things there is a massive 60-foot fin whale skeleton! The aquarium also has many unique marine animals, from small sharks and rays to colorful jellyfish and even a fascinating wreckfish.

Here are two big floors packed with engaging exhibits. I particularly loved the ocean tank filled with local fish species and the ray pool where you can get up close and personal with these gentle creatures.

If you catch the fish feeding time, it’s a blast! Watching the staff interact with the animals while explaining their behaviors is entertaining and educational. Plus, they offer free parking and Wi-Fi, which is always a win in my book!

One of the coolest things about Exploris is the Under the Sea Experience. Imagine strolling through an underwater glass tunnel—you can feel like you’re walking beneath the waves!

Plus, they have a lively Seal Sanctuary where the seals know how to put on a show. But it’s not just about the fish! Exploris also explores Strangford Lough’s Viking heritage, combining fun with a little education.

If you’re visiting with family, you’re in for a treat! This awesome two-tiered indoor soft play area is themed around the ocean pis filled with slides, ball pits, and climbing structures. It’s a hit with the kids.

If you’re ever in County Kerry, you must check out Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium. It’s an amazing spot right by the scenic Dingle Marina. Where else can you see sand tiger sharks, gentoo penguins, and adorable Asian short-clawed otters in one place?

One of the coolest things about the aquarium is its immersive experience, Deep Atlantic. It highlights the dazzling biodiversity of the waters off the Kerry coast, where you are connected to the ocean and all its wonders.

There are interactive exhibits where you can touch rays and crabs—trust me, it’s a blast! It brings out your inner child. I spent ages just watching the penguins; they’re such characters!

The place feels inviting and fun, with bright, engaging displaysthroughout. If you have kids, they’ll be glued to the activities designed just for them, and there are interesting sessions for adults.
