I Braved the 4 Top Malahide Pubs and Lived to Tell the Tale

One rainy afternoon, I ducked into a small pub in Malahide just to get out of the rain. I was cold, wet, and I just wanted a quiet pint. But by the end of the night, I was laughing with two locals, eating the best fish and chips I’d had in ages, and clapping along to live music I didn’t even know was happening.

That’s what I love about Malahide pubs—you walk in for a drink, and you walk out with a story. In this article, I’ll take you through some of my favorite pubs in town so you can have your own story to share!

We spent a bit of time at Gibney’s in Malahide, and honestly, it’s a must-visit. This pub is cozy, lively, and so welcoming that it’s hard not to feel at home even if you’re just passing through!

The place is always buzzing, especially on trivia nights when the energy is through the roof. If that’s not your thing, the beer garden is just as fun, with heated benches to keep you warm that makes it easy to enjoy a pint outdoors.

Speaking of pints, this spot can pour a perfect Guinness!  There’s also a solid selection of craft beers for those who like to mix things up.

The food? Well, we weren’t disappointed. We dug into their Fish & Chips and the pub burger that didn’t skimp on portions. For a pub meal, it definitely hit the spot.

And just when we thought things couldn’t get any better, they also have live Irish music!

We couldn’t pass up the Fish & Chips, and it didn’t disappoint.  If you’re looking for something a bit lighter but still filling, the Famous Fowler’s Wrap is a solid choice.

For those who like a bit of variety, the BBQ Chicken Tenders are packed with flavor and absolutely worth a try!

We recently had the chance to visit Gilbert & Wright in Malahide, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots in town! The place has a fun vibe that makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the action.

Add to that the great food and top-notch service, and we could see why it’s a local favorite.

We kicked off the night with some chicken wings  and they were absolutely delicious, probably some of the best wings we’ve ever had. For those who like BBQ, their BBQ wings are a solid choice!

As for drinks, the beer is ice-cold, which is just perfect when you’re looking to unwind.

But this spot isn’t just about the food and drinks. It’s a great place to hang out with friends, especially on Sundays when there’s live music! It’s one of those places where you can’t help but enjoy yourself and we had a blast dancing and singing along.

The staff deserves a shout-out too. They’re friendly, helpful, and genuinely make you feel at home. It doesn’t matter if you’re a first-time visitor or a regular–they’ll treat you like old friends.
