Best Time to Go to Mourne Mountains
Due to the warm and dry weather, the most popular time to visit the Mourne Mountains is in the summer, specifically June to August.
This makes it ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and exploring lakes and rivers. However, it is also the busiest time, with larger crowds and higher accommodation prices.
On the other hand, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer milder weather and smaller crowds, making them good shoulder seasons to visit. Spring is particularly beautiful with blooming wildflowers, but the weather can be changeable.
Finally, winter (December to February) is the quietest time to visit the mountains, offering a unique, snowy experience. However, visitors should be prepared for cold conditions and potential trail closures due to snow and ice.
