We found Bon Appetit in the Michelin guide, so of course we had to try it while in Malahide!
The restaurant is in a lovely old Georgian house right beside the harbor. It feels fancy, but not in a way that makes you uncomfortable. The place has a nice, old-fashioned feel, but the food is modern and creative.
We sat upstairs, but the restaurant has a few different levels, including a small bar in the basement that feels like something out of a romantic movie.
The menu is mostly French with some fun surprises. We recommend the beef bourguignon–it was so soft it almost fell apart on its own. The halibut with creamy celeriac and tasty mushrooms are another must try!
Service was a bit slow when the place got busy, but everyone was friendly and doing their best. The staff were warm, efficient, and very good at pretending they didn’t notice us drooling over the dessert menu.

For the best value, visit during their mid-week! They’ve got special deals that can help you enjoy their food without spending too much.

Right in the middle of Malahide, Al Fresco brings a taste of Italy! This restaurant is a local favorite thanks to its friendly staff, warm atmosphere, and delicious classic dishes.
The staff were incredibly friendly. No reservations needed, even on a Saturday night. It felt like being invited into someone’s home!
Must try dishes include the lasagna—it’s rich, cheesy, and one of the best we’ve had in a long time. The seafood spaghetti is another great pick, packed with prawns and lots of sauce (maybe a little too much if you like things on the drier side).
Don’t skip the garlic bread either—it’s warm, crispy, and it vanished from our table in seconds. The crab ravioli was also a standout!
Service was relaxed—okay, a little slow at times—but they made up for it by being super kind and attentive. Even with a full house, they checked in often and made sure we were enjoying everything.

Bring a light jacket, especially if it’s cold or you’re sitting near the door. It can get chilly when people come in, and being warm makes the meal much more enjoyable.

Jaipur is a solid choice for an Indian restaurant in Malahide. The food is great, the staff are helpful, and the service is quick. Plust, it’s set in a restored basement with stone walls, so that automatically makes the place interesting!
The mixed starter platter is the bomb here. It’s great for sharing, but you might not want to. The chicken biryani is a solid choice too! The butter chicken is rich, creamy, and just right. For seafood fans, the prawn jalfrezi is a must.
And don’t skip dessert! The gulab jamun with vanilla ice cream is warm and sweet. You can also get papadams with three types of chutney to start—keep an eye on the mint one, because it’s way too good.
Service was spot-on. The staff were cheerful and helpful. It’s also great that they take food allergies seriously and are happy to adjust dishes!

The menu is packed with great options, and it didn’t take us long to find a few favorites. The fish & chips is an absolute winner–we couldn’t get enough of them!

We also gave the BBQ chicken tenders a go, and they didn’t disappoint. Smoky, tender, and a great choice if you’re after something hearty

We recommend trying the buttermilk chicken benedict. For something lighter, the Goats Cheese Salad is a great option. It’s large, tasty, and very satisfying! The eggs benedict with rich hollandaise sauce is a classic that keeps people coming back.
The lemon meringue pie for dessert is a show stealer!i It’s light, fluffy, and easily a favorite
